My Time at Jarilo by Josh Casson
I joined the Jarilo team in April 2017, bringing several years of experience in sustainable construction from a sales and marketing perspective. I’d been interested in graphic/web design since my school days and had integrated that into my previous roles, having also worked on several freelance projects over the years too. I wanted to get more involved in the design industry whilst still making use of my business and sales knowledge. Jarilo had an opening for a Sales and Marketing Executive, and now here we are almost 2yrs later.
Coming from a more corporate industry, I think I brought a way of handling sales that was different to what Jarilo was familiar with. That meant I had some adapting to do for all our different types of clients and jobs, and also helped me set new records to push the business forward.
One of the highlights working at Jarilo for me personally is the very business-like but friendly focus our team has, and the same goes for our clients. Jarilo customers know what to expect from our teams and we’re generally on the same wavelength.
On a more personal note, my two biggest loves in life are music and food (the Mrs comes in at a very close third). I’m a big fan of eating, cooking and eating more thanks to my amazing metabolism (which everyone in the office is jealous of). It’s rare I do absolutely anything without listening to music, whether that’s hip hop, rock or some drum and bass. I really enjoy travelling around the world having visited at least 15 countries, my favourite being the Maldives (three times) where I became a qualified scuba diver.
