Last week Jarilo Design had the absolute privilege of filming a promotional video for Carla Lane in Melling, Liverpool. Carla Lane Animals in Need is a rescue centre for dogs, cats and other animals which need re-homing and in some cases rehabilitation. As Jon our Director rescued Koby from here (the Jarilo Design office dog), this charity is very close to all of our hearts here at Jarilo Design and we wanted to give something back to help them with their work.

Carla Lane have been rescuing animals for over 40 years and have a no destruction policy. They take on many animals which need re-homing but the majority of their dogs are from stray dog pounds where they have served their 7 days as an unclaimed stray and are now due to be destroyed. Carla Lane gives these dogs the chance they need and believe all animals are equal and no breed is discriminated against.

Having spoken to Tracy prior to the shoot we learned that Carla Lane have recently refurbished their kennels and outdoor area for the dogs, all through donations from the public. Although there are a lot of sad stories about the animals, Tracy wanted the video to be positive and show off all of the animals personalities in their care as well as show the public what their donations have done for the centre. This promo video is just a little something Jarilo Design felt we could give to help them promote this fantastic sanctuary.

Whilst we were there, we learned that our friend Netty from Groomingdales does a lot of charity work for the rescue centre where she grooms the dogs to perfection, for free, to give them the best chance of being re-homed. She along with many volunteers all work together with the love for the animals at the core of their motivation.

During the day we met many animals with a couple really capturing our hearts and some behaving so well and being the perfect models! Some of the dogs have made it from foreign countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia, Cyprus, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Mauritius and Ireland!

“Carla Lane was one of the best film shoots I’ve been on for a long time.Everyone was friendly, the animals all showed love and wanted to be adopted and my all-time favourite was Gabrielle. This video project is going to be slightly different mainly because it’s going to be a different pace than previous ones as it’s mainly going to show most of the animals and some running shots as well. With how much energy is going to go into the it, I can’t wait to finish this project. After seeing how much work, love and effort goes into running Carla Lane, I would recommend anyone to go down and meet their furrrrrture friend and give them a forever home.”
